Basd Body Lotion and Wash close up

Allow me to boost your shower experience with new Canadian body care line, Basd.  Ever since it launched a few months ago I’ve had my eye on their deliciously sounding body washes, lotions, and scrubs. (Thank you to the company for allowing me to indulge!!)

Basd makes their products in two different scents: Indulgent Creme Brûlée and Invigorating Mint. *OBVIOUSLY* because of my sweet tooth, I opted for the Creme Brûlée, which truly smells like the real thing.

Basd Body Lotion
I’m totally impressed by this rich body lotion and find myself applying it multiple times a day. The formula is super creamy and made up of Sunflower oil, aloe vera juice, shea butter, and coconut oil. The lotion absorbs well with minimal greasiness, but takes some time to massage in, especially when the skin is still wet. *For those of you who don’t like smelling like a vanilla goddess, or want to share it with the men in your lives, I’d opt to get the peppermint scent.

Basd Body Wash
When it comes to shower products, I’m surprisingly a minimalist. I rarely use body wash and only use a bar of natural soap to clean the “essentials”. My reason: it’s far too easy to over-wash the skin and strip it of its naturally protective oils –contributing to eczema, irritation, and breakouts.

Not to worry, you won’t be over-drying your skin with Basd body wash. It’s surprisingly creamy (I was expecting a gel consistency) and feels extremely hydrating and silky. Plus, the creme brûlée scent literally makes showering a treat.

“For those who are sleep deprived (like this new mama!) the coffee aroma is a much needed wake up call before the actual java is brewed! “

Basd Coffee Body Scrub
If you love coffee, you’ll love this! Made out of organic coffee grounds spiked with sweet almond oil and coconut sugar, the Basd scrub not only exfoliates, but moisturizes.

The label warns that it will make a mess, and it’s true. Since scrubbing my bathtub is a chore I try to avoid, I will probably reserve this treat for special occasions. That said, the coffee scrub followed by the body wash and lotion definitely makes for an indulgent shower ritual!

Basd is one of the many fantastic beauty brands that will be at the Mindful Beauty event hosted by Graydon Skincare on September 28th, 12-7pm at Creeds Coffee Bar (390 Dupont St. Toronto). Admission is free!
